In 1997, I went to work for Macquarium Intelligent Communications in Atlanta as a graphic designer for their web projects. I left Macquarium in 2001. In the meantime, I produced a lot of work, but much of it looks painfully dated nowadays. It seems like web design had to go through many different aesthetic periods in a relatively short span of time so that it could catch up to the state of refinement that print design already possessed.
In 2001, I started a series of contract jobs that included work for The Weather Channel and Coca-Cola. These jobs mainly consisted of either working on portions of a site or designing sites for internal use.
In August of 2005, I went to work for Catalyst Networks in North Atlanta. On most of the projects at Catalyst, I had less pre-created source material to work with, so I often had to simplify my overall approach to site design. Catalyst has also gone through several growing phases. While I was there, it branched out into a couple of different market specific brands, BrainJocks and itsforsale.
